We are excited to bring you our latest release – SanerNow 6.3.1. This release offers an exciting new feature, enhancement, and bug fixes.
What’s New in SanerNow 6.3.1
New Feature
- Remediation SLA in SanerNow PM: Often, organizations impose a similar remediation Service Level Agreement across all vulnerabilities, ignoring critical vulnerabilities. High-risk vulnerabilities require swift actions to thwart any impending threat they might cause to the organization’s infrastructure. To help organizations solve this problem, we have introduced a new feature in SanerNow PM (Patch Management) that allows you to specify a Service Level Agreement (SLA) required to remediate various types of patches in your organization. Organizations can use the newly introduced Remediation SLA feature to establish accurate remediation timeframes for different patch categories. This approach brings discipline and accountability to the organization’s vulnerability management efforts, ensuring that vulnerabilities are identified and resolved within the specified timeframes, thereby enhancing the organization’s overall security posture. We have added new reports that provide real-time information on whether the organization’s patching activity meets the prescribed remediation SLA, helping you streamline your organization’s vulnerability management efforts.
Enhancement
- Action Name and Owner in SanerNow EM: We have enhanced SanerNow EM (Endpoint Management) to display the action name and the owner who created the action on the Action Status page using SanerNow EM Actions. Also, details such as the action creation date, the type of action performed on the device, the number of hosts on which the action was performed, and the schedule specified for each action are presented on the Action Status page.
End of Support
The latest version of SanerNow Agents will not support the following operating systems as they have reached their EOL.
- Amazon Linux
- Fedora 28
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP1
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2
Older SanerNow Agents (6.3.x and below ) will continue to support the above operating systems.
REST and Report API Changes
Here is an overview of the API changes made in SanerNow 6.3.1
Modified APIs
- We have introduced three new fields to the ‘getDevice’ API’s response. The newly added fields are as follows.
- agentStatus — — This field lets you know the current status of the SanerNow Agent on the device.
- agentConfig — — This field lets you know the name of the SanerNow Agent profile assigned to the device.
- lastRemediation — — This field lets you know the date and time of the last remediation activity performed on the device.
Report API Changes
We have added a new report, ‘Remediation SLA Report,’ to the canned reports category in SanerNow. This report provides detailed information on the overall Service Level Agreement compliance of the devices in the Account. At the same time, the report also gives insights into the number of patches that violate SLA guidelines and the number of patches that must be applied to achieve SLA compliance.
We have also introduced new reports under the Remediation SLA Report category to help you monitor the overall Remediation SLA compliance across devices in an account.
We sincerely believe the features and enhancements introduced in the 6.3.1 release will significantly elevate your experience with SanerNow. Your feedback is essential to our continuous improvement.
